On the 5th April 2024, Craighead Diocesan senior Drama students, alongside Geraldine High School, Twizel Area School, and Ashburton College, competed in the Aoraki Regional Sheilah Winn Shakespeare festival.

This was hosted by Craighead and included eight performances.

The afternoon was a huge success, with Craighead awarded the following:

  • Best use of space: The Taming of the Shrew, Induction Scene (Year 11)
  • Best vocal projection: Ruby Jackson in The Taming of the Shrew Induction Scene (Year 11)
  • NSSP Direct Entry award: Soraya Hunt (Year 11)

The NSSP is the National Secondary School production week; a week-long course of workshopping Shakespeare in Dunedin, with the possibility of being selected to attend a course in London at the Globe Theatre.

Craighead would like to thank the staff, students, and parents/caregivers for their support in the event. Nga Mihi
