2024 Inline Road and Flat Track/Indoor Speed Skating Nationals

The 2024 Inline Road and Flat Track/Indoor Speed Skating Nationals were held in Blenheim from 2-7 January. Lauren Crawford is in her second year competing in the Cadet grade.

In the Road Nationals Lauren came:

200m Time Trial:4th

1000m:3rd

500m:1st and a new National Speed Record of 51.596!

5000m Points Race:2nd

5000m Junior Girls Relay:1st

Flat Track:

300m Time Trial:3rd

800m:3rd

1500m:3rd

3000m:3rd

Junior Mixed Pairs 1200m Relay:3rd

Junior Ladies 1500m Relay:1st

On the last day, a Half Marathon, 21km race is held and Lauren came in 3rd place in the Under 15 girls category.

New Zealand U18 Ice Hockey

Craighead's Camryn Linton and Izzy Power represented New Zealand in the U18 Girls Ice Hockey team that competed at the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey U18 Women’s World Championships, Division II, Group B. For the second year in a row, Camryn was named Assistant Captain of the team. The girls and the team put on some amazing performances throughout the tournament. The results are below.

Mexico 1:3 NZ

South Africa 0:22 NZ

Iceland 0:2 NZ(Camryn was named MVP of this game)

Belgium 5:2 NZ

Bulgaria 3:4 NZ

The team won gold in the tournament meaning this puts them up into the next division, Division II, A for 2025. Take a look at this link to see the final moments of the victory that saw the team win gold!
