Year 10 German scooter trip to Caroline Bay

We couldn’t have asked for better scooter trip weather as we departed from school in different directions, heading for Caroline Bay! As part of a unit on Directions, the students have been working in groups and using Google maps to write directions in German to get from school to the Bay taking a variety of routes. All the students successfully managed to follow their directions and arrive at the Bay, where we shared a tasty picnic which included cheese, pretzels, German Lebkuchen (gingerbread), Spekulatius biscuits (a spiced cookie eaten at Christmas time in Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium) and lollies (Haribo, of course!)

It was a great way to give a real-world application to what we have been learning in the classroom.
