New Zealand’s Kaylee Bell has made history at the 57th CMA Awards last night in Nashville. Winning the Jeff Walker Global Country Artist Award, Bell is the first ever New Zealand artist to do so, and the only other New Zealand artist to win a CMA Award alongside Keith Urban. Presented to Bell by Tyler Hubbard from Florida Georgia Line, the award rounds off a breakthrough 2023 for Bell. In February, she supported global superstar Ed Sheeran on the New Zealand leg of his +-+÷× (Mathematics) tour including three stadium shows, she then backed this up with a Top 20 commercial radio hit in New Zealand ‘Boots n All’, which saw her play a staggering 17 shows throughout her home country on the ‘Boots n All Tour’ selling close to 8,000 tickets. In June, Bell created history becoming the 'First Independent Female Country Artist' to receive an ARIA GOLD award for record sales for 'The Red EP' and the first Female Country Artist for over 20 years, to receive the honour. More recently, her 2019 hit single ‘Keith’ enjoyed a resurgence, charting on the Billboard Charts at #12 (Country Digital Song Sales Chart) and #41 on the Emerging Artists Billboard Chart. Bell who is independent, and self-managed is the most streamed female country artist in Australasia. Today she shares new single ‘Good Things’. With a new album on the horizon and a slew of festival dates throughout Australia and New Zealand this Summer, Good Things are happening for New Zealand’s brightest country music star Kaylee Bell.
