Last Thursday we were delighted to celebrate the incredible achievements of 15 of our Old Girls’ in our very first ‘Cultural Wall of Fame’ Event.

Our 2023 Inductees were Jane Falconer, Jessie Miller, Karyn Fenton-Ellis, Peri Drysdale, Rose Macfarlane, Tessa Cullen, Ann Brebner, Ann Shelton, Anthea Moller, Desiree Reid, Holly Zandbergen, Louise Deans, Margaret Carter, Kaylee Bell & Laura Hughes. Each one of these remarkable women were nominated for their service to the following categories: Music or Media, Science or Technology, Visual or Performing Arts/Design, Literary, Business Enterprise or Service.

We love to celebrate our successes here at Craighead and it was heartwarming to see our Inductees travel from all over NZ to accept their award in person. For those abroad, we warmly welcomed their families to accept on their behalf.

It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening which was then followed up by our annual COG’s Reunion on Friday. This year our Reunion was for any past Craighead students who were Form 3 or Year 9 in a year ending 7,8 or 9.

Friday began with Rev Stephanie Mander officiating a beautiful chapel service followed by Mrs Riabinkina, Teacher of Music, presenting an amazing ensemble of our musical talent to entertain our guests. Our Old Girls’ were blown away by the calibre of our students and the development of our buildings and grounds. We spent many hours looking at displays of old photos kindly put together by our Archivist Mr Batchelor, touring the campus with some of our Year 13’s and sharing many fond (and sometimes hilarious) memories of their time at Craighead. The group enjoyed themselves that much that they are already talking about returning next year. Thank you to all those involved in making both of these events so successful.
