Well done to our Senior Adventure Race team who competed in a 6 hour adventure race on Sunday in Christchurch. After a prompt 6.00am start from Craighead, the team arrived at a ‘secret’ venue in time for the race briefing. Once a map of the course was handed out the team were ready to locate as many checkpoints as they could within 6 hours. The first challenge was the rogaine run which started at Lake Rua. this course ended at the bike transition 15 km away. Our team made it to transition after a bit of ‘freestyle’ rogaining added on a few extra kilometers, but they made it with a cheerful smile and sensational team work. Another 25 km plus later our team makes it to the finish with 4 minutes to spare – just in time for free pizza!
The team had an amazing day, and it was a privilege to see how the team worked together as one. Girls, you were amazing! Thanks to to Vanessa Porter and Natalia Eason for your amazing support on the day and your help with transport and navigation. It was also wonderful to see Forman’s and the Nelson’s at the event too. Such support is so appreciated by the team.
