On Wednesday all our Year 11 students attended the South Canterbury Pathways Expo at the Aorangi Stadium, Timaru. The Expo had a wide range of representatives from industries from around South Canterbury. The students heard from Nigel Davenport (Venture Timaru) and Alysia Patterson (Brown and Shipman), who spoke about her pathway and her current job in a predominantly male dominated industry. They were then split into small groups and had rotations with eight different industries. During each rotation the students got to speak directly to the employers- hear about their individual pathways and ask questions about the industry. The feedback from the students was very positive, they enjoyed the opportunity to hear from a range of professionals and of course they loved the prizes and giveaways.
