Mrs Scott’s Year 11 English class quietly observed an ANZAC commemoration today. A short outdoor ceremony was held involving the reading of “In Flanders Fields”, a war poem written during the First World War by Canadian physician Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae, and included an audio recording of the “The Last Post”, a military bugle call, synonymous with remembrance. It’s not our turn for our Head Students to be part of the upcoming local Civic ceremony this year on April 25th, but as a school, we will honour the ANZACs and our Old Girls who served in wars, at the first Assembly in Term 2.
